The drift is widening.
Went to ECHS in Gurgaon today. It was not functioning as there was no electricity. Asked the OIC if generator was not functioning. His response was an eye opener. Generator was operational but he had no diesel. Funds have not been allocated for last one year by Stn HQ (Delhi Area). The Med Regt gave him diesel till the pending bill became Rs 1.0 lakh. When the matter of pending bill reached Stn HQ, they have asked him to explain why he took diesel when no money was allocated.
We are in for trouble with ECHS in future if the Serving fraternity has this attitude.
