Important note
Last Rites from IAF
*At the passing away of the air vetaran, the following action is to be taken by any well wisher:*
1. Dial 1932, (any where in India - wherever you are) you will be connected to the nearest AF exchange at your place .
Intimate the exchange about the demise; you will be further connected to Adjutant (if it is working hours) or
to the Orderly Officer (if non working hours or holidays).
Just inform them &
Give your contact number.
2. Concerned person will contact you immediately and ask for deceased
a) Service details/ particulars and
b) Cremation time and location.
3. Concerned service persons will be present before cremation to do the last rites like flower wreaths (Three wreaths, on on behalf of CAS,
one for the C in C and
one for the AOC).
A Flag (National/ Air force) will be provided to cover the deceased Air veteran's body for the last rites.
Please note and help your friends,
educate your family members.
Every veteran deserves to get last rites after passing away, from the IAF.
NOK will be given Rs 15,000 GARIMA grant from nearest IAF unit.
