All India Radio over the past so many decades has been doing yeoman service as a public service broadcaster to our nation.Amongst so many beautiful programmes it Airs it also showcases our Armed Forces .
Yesterday was one such episode where the Parents and Family of a Serving Officer ( name withheld) was broadcast .The Parents were and are Visually impaired since their birth and were very poor Yet, They would weave Cane Chairs to make a Livelihood ..They raised their children giving them the best .The Son was enrolled in Sainik school Satara, then the Son joined the National Defence Academy ( NDA) IMA and now a serving Colonel.The parents educated their daughter to become a Doctor .This is amongst the lakhs of similar Stories and the sacrifices of our Armed Forces Parents
