HQ KKSA is shortly undertaking construction of a Military Crematorium at Bangalore to ensure dignified and honourable Last Rites for all ESM and their Dependents, in keeping with basic human aspirations. This would be for all Serving personnel, Veterans and their dependents.

The need for a military crematorium was felt considering the state of civil crematoriums in Bangalore, which are found wanting in basic facilities and amenities.
In view of the felt need, HQ Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area has put in motion a greenfield Project to develop a Modular Electric Crematorium at Iblur, Bangalore, which will be a specialised facility providing the amenities and environs that we aspire for. This would also ensure fitting Military Funerals for those who have the privilege of passing away in Uniform and who make the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the Nation.

The Crematorium would be managed by an Oversight Committee  instituted at the Sub Area HQ with trained staff and management deployed at the Crematorium. Clear SOP on utilisation and upkeep would be promulgated on operationalisation of the facility. The ADLRS scheme would be dovetailed with SOP to facilitate expenditure as per the due authorisation to ESM.

The Project would benefit all Veterans and Dependents in Bangalore including adjoining areas and transients (especially ex Medical cases from CHAF). The Project is being undertaken in conjunction with the State Bank of India as a CSR Activity for the Defence Forces and culmination is expected over the next 3-4  months.
