The excitement for Diwali festivity is warming up the environment. As we head towards an electrifying weekend to celebrate Diwali, the first day of the five-day-long Diwali festival, Dhanteras is on Tuesday, 17th October, 2017. Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi Puja, falls on the thirteenth lunar day of Karthik Krishna Paksha, of the Hindu month of Kartik (October-November). It is an auspicious day to buy new things for the house, especially gold and silver. Dhannteras is an occasion to offer our prayers to Goddess Lakshmi, along with Lord Kuber.

*Significance*

The legend goes that on this day of Dhantrayodashi, Goddess Lakshmi came out from the ocean of milk during the churning of the sea.

According to another mythological belief, this day ascribes to the legend of the 16-year-old son of King Hima. His horoscope predicted death for him, Four days after his marriage. His wife clevery heaped all her jewellery and gold coins at the entrance and did not let her husband sleep all night. When Yama came, he was blinded by the dazzling heap of gold. He sat on it for the entire night and kept listening to the songs and bhajans his wife sang. Yama left in the morning silently and the young prince was saved.

*Wish you all a very Happy and  Prosperous  Dhanteras.*
